LCC developed the Series 3 Digital Electronic Governor from it’s previous larger turbine designs with a smaller package both rugged and field-qualified. The operating and display panel is rated for 70̊C and easily mounts to an enclosure door. While small governors usually lack control sophistication, the Series 3 features:
Utilizing a pair of redundant speed probe inputs, the Series 3 resolves turbine speed to less than one RPM accuracy and directs the servo drive for an electric actuator to typical 1/1000th-inch precision. The result is exacting control with stability algorithms proven for roller screw electric actuator positioning.
The Series 3 front panel includes tactile back-lighted pushbuttons and a florescent display screen with multi-page data lists. The alarm processing retains alarm history until operator pushbutton acknowledge is performed. Configuration of parameters is assigned with a temporary laptop port connection and LCC Configuration software. All configurable parameters retain memory values upon power shut down.
With a small 1/4-DIN footprint and aluminum girder frame with steel sheathing construction, the Series 3 Governor easily mounts on field cabinets near turbines.
Power feeds may be redundant or single 110-120 VAC single phase 50-60 Hz. according to turbine operation plant importance.
