200-Series Distributed Turbine Controls

LCC's 200-Series is a collection of redundant networked distributed modules which are optioned together to form a powerful control and instrumentation system to meet very specific control and I/O requirements in the most demanding of applications.

200-Series Modules may be either VME-P2 size 19-inch rack mounted in control cabinets or stand alone drops in Operator Control Stations or Information terminals.  200-Series Systems consist of collections of 200-Series Modules which may be located about the plant, communicating on the  redundant proprietary (LCCNET-A, LCCNET-B) RS-485 networks.

Typical 200-Series System Applications

Nuclear Main Feedwater Pump Turbines (MFPT)

    For PWR (Pressurized Water Reactor) Nuclear Plants and BWR (Boiling Water Reactor) Nuclear Plants and Fossil Plant Boiler Feed Pump Turbines

DISCUSSION:

Covering General Electric, Westinghouse, DeLaval, and ABB, Alstom, and Siemans turbine driven pumps in the secondary plant cycle steam generator feed in PWRs and Reactor Feed Pumps in BWRs..  These are vital applications not only to plant power output but also to reduce shocks and transients to the plant primary reactor system, therefore REDUNDANT CONTROL MODULE hardware is specified in the 200-Series designs for the utmost in reliability.

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION EXAMPLES

    Two configurations are presented.  Configuration 1A represents a Full Systems Redundant Retrofit or a maximum replacement effort of all ageing and antiquated equipment in the MFPT Control and Instrument range.  Configuration 1B represents a Simplex Governor and Electric Actuator retrofit only.  Because the 200-Series is assembled from the module building blocks any configuration level can be obtained .
